Food Quality Gasket Materials

Food Quality Gasket Materials: High quality nitrile, neoprene, and silicone are all available for use in the food industry.

These rubbers tend to be white in colour, as opposed to their industrial variants which are black. Although food grades share many of their properties with their industrial counterparts, they are not identical.

Asbestos free jointing and PTFE can also be used in the food industry. Care must be taken that the gasket material chosen is not only suitable for the product being processed, but is also capable of withstanding any chemicals and/ or heating the process involves.
